Jeremy Babikow lives and works in Lancaster Pennsylvania, but he also has a deep appreciation for the outer banks of North Carolina, which have always been a source of inspiration. He began lampworking four years ago in March of 2003. His life long love of all things that squiggle, squirm, wiggle or crawl and the many reptilian friends that shared his living space through out childhood often inspire his work. His love of jazz and the abstract also have influence on his pieces. When not at the torch Jeremy may be found at his piano playing and writing jazz, blues and rock.
All objects and art work are lampworked by hand, using a torch, borosilicate or "hard" glass, and at times gold and silver fume to create certain colors. gravity and heat provide much of the needed energy to shape glass rods and tubes into art and objects of beauty.
